THE 15 THINGS EVERYONE SECRETLY HATES ABOUT TRAVELLING ON PLANES.
Travel is one of the biggest industries in the world. Most people travel abroad now, whether it’s for a long weekend getaway or for a holiday. That moment you get off the plane and feel excited to be wherever you are in the world.
However with travel, comes situations we actually hate and want to avoid, but never talk about. I decided to come up with a list of fifteen things we all secretly hate about travelling on planes.
The awkwardness of standing in a line outside the toilet with strangers. Do you make small talk about where they are staying on holiday?, or just stand in silence while everyone is judging how long the person in the toilet is taking.
Not to mention that moment the person eventually comes out and everyone does the awkward shuffle to let them past.
When the one thing you wanted from the duty free trolley is sold out..
You’ve been reading the duty free magazine for half of the flight, and kept your eyes on a particular fragrance you love. The duty free trolly eventually arrives, and you find out that item is sold out.
You can however try asking at the beginning of the flight to put the item aside, if you know the exact item you want. This will save you the disappointment of waiting all flight if it’s not available.
The child infront of you decides to stare at you through the gap in the seats for what feels like the whole journey… why? I just want to eat my pringles in peace.
When the person infront decides to recline their seat all the way back.
I then have to try and balance my gin and my pringles on my lap, with my tray digging into my knees. My screen on the seat is also literally in my face, so I can hardly see my film. Thanks babe.
The person ten rows back is having a constant loud cough. They aren’t even trying to be silent about it.
It’ll either be that, or a screaming baby.
When you have an argument with whoever you’re travelling with about who is getting the window seat.
I need those insta shots of the view (check the images in this post).
People walking up and down the aisle barefoot.. why?
This one might just be me, but when you feel like you’re being judged for your movie choice.
If I want to watch Disney and have a stupid smile while the songs are playing, I will.
When you can’t sleep on planes, yet you have a night flight. Brutal. I try and get through it by just drinking wine and watching films.
Does anyone else struggle sleeping on flights too?.
How everyone stands in the aisles as soon as the plane lands. We all have to go through passport control, honestly whats the rush. It’ll be another ten minutes before the door even opens.
Also you’re knocking people out with getting your bags down from the lockers.
People that clap when the plane lands. Please don’t be one of those people.
Sitting next to someone who loves the air vent on. Let me just put on eight layers of clothes, while I can feel my tan slowly fading.
People who queue to board the plane for ages, only to sit on the plane for about half an hour and wait for everyone else to board.
Is this just so they can have a space in the locker?
When people chuck their massive bags on top of your bag in the locker, without asking and potentially damaging something.
It happened to me on the way back from Orlando. I bought a beautiful Disney Christmas bauble for my parents which broke.
Kids kicking the back of your seat throughout the whole flight. Without an apology from the parents.
So this was the list I could think of for the moment, however please feel free to add any that you find annoying in the comments below.
Would you agree with my list?
