LET’S TALK SKINCARE.

Worth The Hype?

Skincare is the one key thing we shouldn’t forget in our daily routines, it can help your skin glow, keep you looking young and you just feel great! If there’s one particular brand I discovered in early 2017 and that I’m obsessed with, it would be Mario Badescu. I honestly have no clue how I managed before without it.

Mario Badescu’s brand has been around since 1967 when the products were first born in his two-bedroom Manhattan apartment and have since then become a global favourite and known for the acne solutions and anti-aging treatment. You can currently purchase Mario Badescu products in the UK from Beauty Bay, Urban Outfitters, Harvey Nichols and Liberty London, as well as purchasing from the actual site but you would need to pay tax as it’s from the US.

I am eager to purchase more products from his range, however so far I have three main products I have been using and absolutely love.

Super Collagen Mask.

Being in my late 20s it’s so important now for me to keep on top of my skincare and to keep future wrinkles at bay. This Collagen Face Mask is amazing! Formulated with Azulene and Oatmeal which are natural soothing ingredients, the mask is used to tone and firm your skin. You apply it for ten minutes and then wash off with warm water. It’s so easy.

The product comes in a little white tub and is a clay mask inside. The smell is quite pleasing as it just smells fresh. After I have taken the mask off my skin feels refreshed and glowing while feels a lot firmer too. The pot might seem quite small but a little bit definitely goes a long way.

This mask can be used on dry, sensitive and combination skin types. The pot comes in 56g (2 oz) and is £18.50

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water, Eau), Kaolin, Talc, Propylene Glycol, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Sorbitol, Zinc Oxide, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Starch, Collagen, Cellulose Gum, Carrageenan, Sodium Chloride, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, CI 42090 (Blue 1), CI 19140 (Yellow 5)

Botanical Firming Lotion

This product I noticed on beauty bay one day when I fancied a small haul. It claims it could reduce cellulite and had collagen in it so I thought I would try it. The bottle is quite large which is perfect as it will last quite a while. I normally apply this product daily after I’ve dried off from the shower. It has a really lovely smell to it too.

The Botanical Firming Lotion is formulated with sweet clover, grapefruit extract, and chamomile which are all stimulating botanicals. The ingredient aminophyllene is meant to reduce the appearence of cellulite on your bum and thighs, while the skin is meant to feel smoother, toned and firmer. The bottle comes in 236ml (8 fl oz) and is £19.50, it can also be used on any skin types.

When applying the product it seems to spread more in what looks like a soapy form but once rubbed in it goes away. My legs after about an hour of having the product on did feel a lot firmer and did have a slight tingle feeling, it basically felt like how your bum does after a leg work out haha. I am working out as well so I can’t actually tell if the product is working or if it’s just the exercise but my cellulite has gone down. This product makes me feel confident to show off my legs and I’m looking forward to seeing results by summer.

Ingredients:

Barley (Hordeum Distichon) Extract, Ivy (Herdera Helix) Extract, Butcherbroom (Ruscus Aculeatus Root) Extract, Mushroom (Argaricus Bisporus) Extract, Sweet Clover (Melilotus Officinalis) Extract, Lady’s Thistle (Silybum Marianum) Extract, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Seed Oil, Lemon (Citrus Limonium) Extract, Rosa Canina Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Propylparaben, Methylparaben

Facial Spray

If there’s one product you should know about it’s the Mario Badescu Facial Spray, available in two scents of cucumber, green tea and aloe or rose water, aloe and herbs.

I tried it first with the Rose water, aloe and herbs in a smaller bottle which is £7 and I could not go a day without it. I used it first thing when I woke up, before bed, before Makeup with my primer, after applying makeup to bring my face back to a natural dewy look after powder, during the day in summer to cool me down, the list is endless. It’s refreshing and just gives your skin a beautiful natural glow.

This product is made to wake up dull, tired skin. This particular bottle I have is made from Cucumber to leave skin glowing and hydrated, Green tea for a natural antioxidant and aloe vera to calm and soothe the skin. There are two sizes available in both products which is 118ml (4oz) for £7 or the 236ml (8oz) which is £11 and can be used on any skin types. The facial spray is seriously good value for money and both of them smell sooo good.
