WHAT MY WEEKLY SELF-CARE ROUTINE IS.
As one of my goals this year is to concentrate more on my mental health and to feel good, one thing I have decided to do more of is self-care days. These can be weekly, monthly or just every so often, but I feel it’s something that is so important. I have decided to do mine weekly on a Sunday as it’s the perfect time to refresh ready for the week ahead.
Gratitude Journal and Affirmations.
To start my day, I usually spend ten to fifteen minutes writing in my journal while drinking a coffee. I do this daily anyway as I think it’s the most ideal way to start the day. My journal and diary are from TKMaxx and I basically write three things that I am grateful for and what I plan for my day to look like. Writing the three things, reminds me that no matter how happy or down I might be in that moment, there is always something I am grateful for and extremely lucky to have.

Tidying.
Once I have finished my journal and affirmations, I then want to clean the space around me. My mind is always so much clearer and refreshed when my space is tidy and I feel like I can concentrate more. This involves dusting, hoovering and tidying away anything messy or unorganised. I will then use a new reed diffuser or scented candle to make everywhere smell amazing too, one i’m loving at the moment is the Jo Malone look alike, No24 Aldi reed defuser in Rose Noir.
Exercise.
The next thing on my list is to clear my head with some exercise. This might be a long walk, or a trip to the gym for a work out. Exercise makes me feel amazing and ready to take on the day. I do this throughout the week too but I always make sure my Sunday exercise is slightly longer than the rest. Even if you’re not a huge gym fan, taking time to go for a walk will really help you.
Hair Mask.
Sunday is the day my hair will have a hair mask in it, to keep it in amazing condition. I try to keep the mask in for as long as possible. One of my favourites so far is the Maui Moisture Revive & Hydrate Shea Butter Hair Mask. I’ve found since using this my hair feels so soft, has less breakage and the mask smells incredible.

Bath.
One thing I absolutely love doing is having a relaxing bath. There’s nothing better than having beautiful scented bath oil with lovely scented candles. I would spend time to make my skin look nice too after with my Rituals The Ritual Of Sakura Magic Touch body moisturiser and get wrapped up in my favourite dressing gown.
Face Routine.
Now I feel all relaxed, I concentrate on making my skin feel incredible. I either use the Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask (If I want to get rid of nasty impurities), or the Body Shop Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask, to minimise my pores. After my face mask I wash it off with a gentle face cloth and use Mudmasky After Mask Vitamin Serum to smooth my face. Then just before bed, I use Avant Duluxe Hyaluronic Acid Vivifying Face & Eye Night Cream which smells amazing.

Time To Relax.
In the evening I try to avoid social media and instead do the things I enjoy, whether that’s watching a film or series on Netflix or reading my favourite books. This is my time to do something I love and can relax to.
Night Time Journal and Meditation.
I want to have an early night on Sunday, so I can start Monday early and get myself ready for the week ahead. One way which helps me shut off is meditation, it really helps my mind shut off for the night and throw out any negativity. I also write in my journal nightly on three things that happened during the day which made me feel great.
This is my self-care routine and since doing this weekly I feel amazing and positive. Do you have a special routine you do which keeps your mindset positive too?
This is the ideal Sunday! I always clean then put various masks on.
